QUARTERLY BREAKFAST MEETINGS

St. Louis Breakfast Meeting

TThe MSIA Breakfast Meeting in St. Louis is scheduled for Friday, June 4, 2010. Brandon D. Larkin, MD, of St. Peters Bone and Joint, will speak at the St. Louis Breakfast Meeting. The presentation is entitled:

"Minimal Traumatic Brain Injury"

You know those seemingly minor head bumps that can cause employers major headaches. Dr. Brandon Larkin will discuss the evaluation tools used in the professional and amateur sports arena to evaluate head injuries and how they are utilized to determine severity and guide management. These techniques can be applied to workers’ comp injuries to get objective evidence to document the signs and symptoms and return the employee to functional capacity and return to work as soon as possible.

Kansas City Breakfast Meeting

The MSIA Breakfast Meeting in Kansas City is scheduled for Friday, June 11, 2010. Michael G. Winter, MSIA’s Executive Director and Matt Condon, CEO of Athletic & Rehabilitation Center in Overland Park KS will be the featured speakers at the Kansas City Breakfast Meeting.

Mr. Winter will provide attendees with a Legislative Wrap-Up Report on the actions of the Missouri General Assembly’s Legislative Session which will conclude on May 14, 2010.

Mr. Condon’s presentation is entitled:

"The Impact Of Wellness Programs On Healthcare Costs"

Mr. Condon will discuss the impact of wellness programs on health care costs and how workers' compensation issues and wellness can be integrated. ARC recently hosted a forum on cost-saving resources for employers regarding healthcare and is the Kansas City region’s first “healthy workforce” company.
